Mineral resources
Here it is rich in minerals. There are above ten sorts of natural resources, including coal, pottery clay,oil shale quartz sand.Bin-chang Coal-mine is the second one in Shaanxi,province covering an area of 1275 square kilometres,the known part of the coal is 6.8 billion tons.It has the characherisitics of large amount, shallow depth,thick coal layers,and the slow angles, easy opening, low sulphur low ashes and high heat.It is the best quality of coals used in chemichal industry and environmentally-friendly. There are 9 units, of which 12 pairs of producing wells. The general amount of production is 20 million tons.It was named as the energy base by the provincal government.
The oil shale minerals are mainly in Shuibei village, Tandian Town and Xiangmiao Town and Baizigou Area.Here it has 150 millions tons. And Shuibei village has the amount of 26 million tons,and its depth of oil shale reaches 7.5 metres.Proved by Northwest University, the Earth Fertiliser Department of Shaanxi Agricilture Insititute Xi’an Hi-tech Physics and Chemical Centre and Beijing Agricultural Instiute, the oil shale contains more than 30 elements. It is the premium material for producing compound feritilisers.In industy the oil shale can be used to produce petrol and its waste gas can be used to produce electricity.
The amount of pottery clay can reach 860 million tons,the possibility of useable amount is 680 million tons.It covers Baijia River, Baizigou,,Wusu in Tiandian Town.It contains the elements of SiO2, Al2O3,Fe2O3.Ti02,CaO,MgO,K20,Na2O, and the colours are grey, dark grey,grey-white Red-iron and it is the best material for pottery.
The richness of clay quatz sand can be used to make glass and in archeteture, and also be used in fire-resitant material.
Agricutural resouces
Binxian County is one of the best places for producing fruit in the world.The whole county contains 28,000 hectare of orchards,producing 267,000 tons of fruits. Large size, high sugar, top quality, long storage are its characheritics.Red fuji,Qinguan apple are honoured as the Best Chinese Fruit and won the Gold Medal over the country.Binzhou pear is famous for its thin peel,sweety and delicious tastes in all over the country, winning the Gold Medal in China’s International Agricultural Fair.There is an area of 10,000 hectare dry fruit and its yearly production is 50,000 tons.They are jujubes, permisons and walnuts. The permison is delicious, rich in nutritions and medicine. Grains area covers 30,000 hectare,and its yearly production is 110,000 tons.Its natural grassland is 24,667 hectare,the area of purple alfalta is planted 10,134 hectare,and its yearly production is 150,000 tons.
Tourim resources
We have a long histoty,celebrities, different cultural relics.There are 2 national important historical sites to be given special portection ,5 provincial and 17 county proctection areas. Inside the museum are 1500 pieces of relics. We also have Shilang Lake Water-curtain Cave, Flowered-fruit Hill, the Stone Cave and Tortoise-snake Hill.The Big Temple is the brightest star on the Silk Road,inside which is a buddha.It is the biggest buddha in shaanxi province.The Grand Kaiyuan Tower shows the arts of the working people.The frescoes in Fenghui Tomb provides research marterial for the Five Dynasties.There are more than fourty places which can be developed into tour attractions.
